What Cities Are Used For

Cities are used to:

  • Define recipient delivery addresses

  • Specify shipment destination locations

  • Support accurate routing and delivery handling

  • Complete the geographic hierarchy:
    Country → State → City

Cities are required for precise delivery operations.

Where Cities Appear

Once configured, Cities appear in:

  • Recipient address creation

  • Shipment destination selection

  • Customer and staff logistics forms

Cities are always linked to a State (and indirectly to a Country).

Step 2: Select Country and State

Choose:

  • The Country

  • The corresponding State

Cities must belong to a valid state.

Step 3: Add City Information

Enter the required details, such as:

  • City name

  • Optional notes or description

Use commonly recognized city names for clarity.

Step 4: Save the City

Click Save to add the city.

After saving:

  • The city becomes selectable in recipient and shipment forms

  • Customers and staff can use it for address selection

Important Rules to Know

  • Cities are tenant-wide

  • Cities must be linked to a state

  • Removing cities may affect recipient addresses

  • Changes apply to future selections only

Best Practices

  • Configure cities immediately after states

  • Use official or commonly accepted city names

  • Avoid duplicate city entries under the same state

  • Plan geographic data before starting operations

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Creating cities without selecting a state

  • Deleting cities used in existing shipments

  • Using inconsistent city naming

  • Skipping city configuration during setup
