Shipping Companies Setting

Purpose

This article explains how Admins configure Shipping Companies in the Thulo Logistics Module.

A Shipping Company represents the courier or carrier responsible for transporting shipments. These options are selected during shipment creation and displayed in tracking and delivery information.


Who This Is For

Required Permissions

  • Logistics → Settings → Edit

  • User Management → Admin access


What Shipping Companies Are Used For

Shipping Companies are used to:

  • Identify the carrier handling a shipment

  • Provide courier information in:

    • Shipments

    • Tracking views

    • Delivery records

  • Standardize carrier selection across operations

Shipping Companies do not define pricing, delivery time, or service mode.


Where Shipping Companies Appear

Once configured, Shipping Companies appear as selectable options in:

  • Create Shipment

  • Create Locker Package (if applicable)

  • Create Consolidation

They may also appear in:

  • Tracking views

  • Shipment details


Step-by-Step: Add a Shipping Company

Step 1: Navigate to Shipping Companies Settings

Go to Logistics → Settings → Shipping Companies.

Step 2: Add Shipping Company Details

Enter the required information, such as:

  • Company name

  • Optional description or notes

Use clear, recognizable names (e.g. DHL, FedEx, Local Courier).


Step 3: Save the Shipping Company

Click Save to add the Shipping Company.

After saving:

  • The company becomes available during shipment creation

  • Staff can select it when creating or processing shipments


Important Rules to Know

  • Shipping Companies are tenant-wide

  • They do not calculate pricing or taxes

  • Changing Shipping Companies does not affect existing shipments

  • Permissions do not restrict which company can be selected


Best Practices

  • Add all frequently used carriers in advance

  • Use consistent naming conventions

  • Remove unused carriers periodically (with caution)

  • Align Shipping Companies with real-world partners


Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Expecting Shipping Companies to affect pricing

  • Using Shipping Companies to represent service levels

  • Renaming companies after shipments are created

  • Creating duplicate entries for the same carrier

This data is used for the “Courier company” field in the creation page of Locker Package, Shipment, Consolidated. And it is also used for Default shipping info in Settings

  1. Create Shipping Company - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar.  Step 2. Select Shipping Companies menu and click on Add Shipping Company button. - Step 3. In the New Shipping Company popup, fill in the required fields. - Step 4. Select Save
  2. Update Shipping Company  To edit a shipping company : - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select the Shipping Companies menu. Find and select the shipping company and click on - Step 3. Make the necessary changes to the shipping company. - Step 4. Select Save.
  3. Delete Shipping Company To delete a shipping company Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select the Shipping Companies menu and select the shipping company you want to delete - Step 3. Select - Step 4. Select OK to confirm
