A Package Type defines the type of packaging used for locker packages and shipments (for example: box, envelope, pallet). It helps standardize package classification during logistics operations.

Package Types do not directly calculate pricing unless combined with tariff rules.
Where Package Types Appear
Once configured, Package Types appear as selectable options in:

Create Locker Package
-
Create Shipment
-
Create Consolidation (where applicable)
Staff select the appropriate package type when entering package details.
Step-by-Step: Add a Package Type
Step 1: Navigate to Package Type Settings
Go to Logistics → Settings → Package Type.

Step 2: Add Package Type Information
Enter the required details, such as:

Package type name (e.g. Box, Envelope, Pallet)

Optional description or notes
Use simple, recognizable package names.
Step 3: Save the Package Type
Click Save to create the package type.
After saving:

The package type becomes available in logistics workflows

Staff can select it during package and shipment creation
Important Rules to Know

Package Types are tenant-wide

They do not enforce pricing or weight rules by themselves

Existing records are not affected if Package Types are changed

Admin Configuration – Logistics Settings (Overview)
This data is used for the “Type of packaging" field in the creation page of Locker Package, Shipment, Consolidated. And it is also used for Default shipping info in Settings
- Create Package Type - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select Type of Packages menu and click on Add Type of Package button.
- Step 3. In the New Package Type popup, fill in the required fields.
- Step 4. Select Save
- Update Packing Type To edit a package type : - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select the Type of Packages menu. Find and select the package type and click on
- Step 3. Make the necessary changes to the package type. - Step 4. Select Save.
- Delete Package Type To delete a package type: - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select the Type of Packages menu and select the package type you want to delete - Step 3. Select
