Logistics Service Setting

Purpose

This article explains how Admins configure Logistics Services in the Thulo Logistics Module.

A Logistics Service represents a service offering provided by the logistics company (for example: Standard Delivery, Express Delivery, Economy Service). It helps categorize shipments and communicate service-level information to staff and customers.


Who This Is For

Required Permissions

  • Logistics → Settings → Edit

  • User Management → Admin access


What Logistics Services Are Used For

Logistics Services are used to:

  • Define available service offerings

  • Categorize shipments by service level

  • Support customer understanding of service options

  • Work alongside:

    • Shipping Modes

    • Shipping Time

    • Tariff Rules (indirectly)

Logistics Services are descriptive, not pricing engines by themselves.


Where Logistics Services Appear

Once configured, Logistics Services appear as selectable options in:

  • Create Shipment

  • Create Locker Package (if enabled)

  • Shipment details and tracking views

Staff select the appropriate service during shipment creation.


Step-by-Step: Add a Logistics Service

Step 1: Navigate to Logistics Service Settings

Go to Logistics → Settings → Logistics Service.

Step 2: Add Logistics Service Information

Enter the required details, such as:

  • Service name (e.g. Standard, Express, Economy)

  • Optional description or notes

Service names should be clear and customer-friendly.


Step 3: Save the Logistics Service

Click Save to create the logistics service.

After saving:

  • The service becomes available in shipment workflows

  • Staff can select it when creating shipments


Important Rules to Know

  • Logistics Services are tenant-wide

  • They do not directly calculate pricing

  • Existing shipments are not affected by service changes

  • Permissions control who can manage services


Best Practices

  • Keep service offerings limited and clear

  • Align services with actual operational capability

  • Match services with shipping modes and delivery times

  • Avoid overlapping or confusing service names


Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using Logistics Services as pricing rules

  • Creating too many similar services

  • Renaming services frequently after operations start

  • Confusing Logistics Services with Shipping Companies

This data is used for the “Logistic Service " field in the creation page of Locker Package, Shipment, Consolidated. And it is also used for Default shipping info in Settings

  1. Create Logistics Service - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar.  Step 2. Select the Logistics Service menu and click on Add Logistics Service button. - Step 3. In the New Logistics Service popup, fill in the required fields. - Step 4. Select Save
  2. Update Logistics Service  To edit a logistics service: - Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select the Logistics Service menu. Find and select the logistics service and click on - Step 3. Make the necessary changes to the logistics service. - Step 4. Select Save.
  3. Delete Logistics Serivce To delete a logistics service: Step 1. Go to Settings menu under the Logistics module on the left sidebar. - Step 2. Select the Logistics Service menu and select the logistics service you want to delete - Step 3. Select - Step 4. Select OK to confirm
