Permissions
The Permissions screen in Thulo HR Payroll allows administrators to control access to payroll information and features for employees in Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and Accounting departments.
Using permissions, administrators can determine which employees can view, create, edit, or delete payroll-related information within the system.
Add a New Permission
Step 1: Open the Permissions Screen

Navigate to Thulo HR → Payroll.

Select Settings → Permissions.

Click Add.
Step 2: Assign Permissions
The Add Permission screen will be displayed.

Select the appropriate Role.
-
Select the Staff Member.
-
Assign the required permissions for each module or screen.
-
Click Save to apply the changes.
Alternatively, click Close to cancel the operation without saving.
Field Descriptions
Role
The Role field retrieves data from:
Setup → Roles
Select the role that should receive the assigned permissions.
Staff Name
The Staff Name field retrieves employee data from:
HR Records → Employees
Select the employee who will receive the assigned permissions.
Permission Types
The system supports the following permission levels:
View (Own)
Allows employees to view only information related to themselves.
Capabilities

View their own payroll information.

View records assigned to them.
-
No permission to create, edit, or delete records.
Important
When View (Own) is selected, View (Global) cannot be selected.
View (Global)
Allows employees to view all records available on the selected screen.
Capabilities
-
View payroll information for all employees.
-
View all records on the assigned screen.
-
No permission to create, edit, or delete records.
Important
When View (Global) is selected, View (Own) cannot be selected.
Create
Allows employees to create new records on the selected screen.
Capabilities
-
Add new records.
-
Cannot edit existing records.
-
Cannot delete records.
Important
A user must also have either View (Own) or View (Global) permission to access the screen.
Edit
Allows employees to modify existing records.
Capabilities

Edit existing records.
-
Cannot create new records.
-
Cannot delete records.
Important
A user must also have either View (Own) or View (Global) permission to access the screen.
Delete
Allows employees to remove records from the selected screen.
Capabilities

Delete existing records.
-
Cannot create records.

Cannot edit records.
Important

Edit a Permission
To modify an existing permission:

Navigate to Payroll → Settings → Permissions.

Locate the permission record.
-
Click the Edit icon.
-
Update the required permissions.
-
Click Save.
Result
The updated permissions will take effect immediately.
Delete a Permission
To remove an existing permission:

Navigate to Payroll → Settings → Permissions.
-
Locate the permission record.
-
Click the Delete icon.
-
Confirm the deletion.
Result
The selected permission assignment will be removed from the system.
Permission Rules
| Permission | Description |

| View (Own) | View only records related to the logged-in employee |
| View (Global) | View records for all employees |
| Create | Create new records |
| Edit | Modify existing records |
| Delete | Remove records |
Additional Rules

View (Own) and View (Global) cannot be assigned at the same time.

Users must have either View (Own) or View (Global) permission before Create, Edit, or Delete permissions can be effectively used.

Permissions can be assigned based on both employee and role requirements.
-
Changes to permissions take effect immediately after saving.
Example
A Payroll Manager may be assigned:

This allows full access to payroll information for all employees.
A regular employee may be assigned:

This allows access only to their own payroll records and payslips.
