Income Tax Rebates in HR Payroll

Income Tax Rebates

The Income Tax Rebates screen in Thulo HR Payroll is used to define and manage personal income tax rebate levels that can be assigned to employees. These rebate values are used when calculating payroll and personal income tax deductions.

Accessing the Income Tax Rebates Screen

  1. Navigate to Thulo HR → Payroll.

  2. Select Income Tax Rebates.

  3. Enter the required rebate information.

  4. Click Save to store the configuration.

The rebate data configured on this screen will be available for assignment to employees through the Employees menu.

Configuring Tax Rebate Levels

Tax rebate values should be entered in ascending order, from the lowest level to the highest level.

For example:

  • Internship Salary

  • Basic Salary

  • Probationary Salary

  • Official Salary

This ensures that rebate amounts are organized correctly and can be assigned appropriately based on employee eligibility.

Calculation Rule

The system calculates the cumulative rebate amount as follows:

Line Total 2 = Line Total 1 + Value 2

Each subsequent total includes the accumulated value of the previous level plus the current value.

Field Description

Field Description
Code Unique code used to identify the tax rebate level
Name Name or description of the tax rebate category
Value Rebate amount for the level
Total Cumulative rebate amount calculated by the system

Using Tax Rebates for Employees

After creating tax rebate records:

  1. Navigate to Payroll → Employees.

  2. Open the employee record.

  3. Enter the appropriate Income Rebate Code in the employee profile.

  4. Save the employee information.

The system will automatically apply the corresponding rebate amount based on the selected rebate code.

Example

If the rebate code OFFICIAL has a cumulative rebate amount of 10,000, and an employee is assigned the OFFICIAL rebate code, the system will use the 10,000 rebate value when calculating the employee's payroll and personal income tax.

Important Notes

  • The Code field must be unique for each rebate level.

  • Employees can only receive rebate amounts associated with the rebate code assigned to their profile.

  • Any changes made to rebate values will affect future payroll calculations after the configuration is saved.

  • Income Tax Rebates work together with Income Tax Rates to calculate the employee's final tax liability.
