-
Fixed Amount
Basis: Gross Pay
When Gross Pay is selected, the insurance amount is calculated as a percentage of the employee's gross salary.
Gross Pay Definition
Gross Pay refers to the employee's pre-tax salary amount calculated through the Payroll Columns configuration.
Example
Assume:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Basis | Gross Pay |
| Gross Pay | 100,000 |
| Rate | 5% |
Calculation
Insurance Amount = 100,000 × 5%
Insurance Amount = 5,000
The insurance deduction or contribution amount will be 5,000.
Note
When Gross Pay is selected, the Rate field must contain a percentage value.
Basis: Fixed Amount
When Fixed Amount is selected, the value entered in the Rate field is treated as a fixed insurance amount.
Example
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Basis | Fixed Amount |
| Rate | 2,000 |
