Create Recipient

Purpose

This article explains how customers create and manage Recipients in the Thulo Logistics Module.

A Recipient represents the delivery destination (person or organization) for shipments and is required before creating Pre-Alerts, Shipments, or Consolidations.


Who This Is For

  • Customers (primary)

  • Staff (reference only)


Required Permissions

  • Customer portal access

  • Logistics → Recipient → Create


When You Should Use This

Create a Recipient when:

  • You want to send a package to a new destination

  • Recipient details are not already available in your account

Recipients should be created before:

  • Creating a Pre-Alert

  • Creating a Shipment


What Happens Before This Step

Before creating a Recipient:

  • Customer account exists

  • Required address and contact details are available


Step-by-Step: Create a Recipient

Step 1: Navigate to Recipients

Log in to the Customer Portal and go to Logistics → Recipients.

Step 2: Add Recipient Information

Enter the required recipient details, including:

  • Name

  • Contact information

  • Country, state, and city

  • Full delivery address

Available location options depend on Admin-configured geography settings.

Step 3: Save the Recipient

Click Save to create the recipient.

After saving:

  • The recipient is stored in your account

  • The recipient becomes selectable for Pre-Alerts and Shipments

  • The same recipient can be reused multiple times


What Happens After This Step

After creating a Recipient, customers may proceed to:

  • Create Pre-Alert

  • Track shipments sent to this recipient

Recipients do not trigger shipments or invoices by themselves.


Important Rules to Know

  • Recipients are customer-specific

  • Customers can edit or update their own recipients

  • Staff can view recipients during shipment processing

  • Geography options depend on Admin settings


Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Entering incomplete address details

  • Selecting incorrect country, state, or city

  • Creating duplicate recipients unnecessarily

  • Expecting recipient creation to start shipment processing

Each customer has a separate recipient file, the recipients are used in the Shipment, Consolidation creation page.

Step 1. Log in to customer portal → select Logistic → select Recipient

Step 2. Select Create Recipient menu 

Step 3.  In the Create Recipient, fill in the requested fields:

The data for the Country, State and City fields are all taken from the Settings in the admin portal.

A recipient can have multiple addresses, click Add Address to add multiple addresses.

Admin will manage all recipients in the Recipient menu
