Type of Leave
Purpose
The Type of Leave screen allows administrators to create and manage leave categories used throughout the Thulo Attendance & Leave Management module.
Leave types define the various kinds of leave employees can request, such as Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Casual Leave, Maternity Leave, Unpaid Leave, or any organization-specific leave category.
The leave types configured on this screen serve as the foundation for:

Leave reporting and analytics
Before employees can submit leave requests, the required leave types must be created and configured.
Create
To create a new leave type:
Step 1: Open Type of Leave Settings

Navigate to Timesheets & Leave from the left sidebar.

Click Settings.
-
Select Type of Leave.
Step 2: Create a New Leave Type

Click the New button.
-
The Input a New Type of Leave window will appear.
Step 3: Enter Leave Type Details

Enter the Type of Leave name.
-
Enter the Character value.
Step 4: Save

Click Save.
The new leave type will become available for leave configuration, allocation, approval processing, and employee leave applications.
View
The Type of Leave list displays all leave categories configured within the organization.
Administrators can review existing leave types and use them as references when configuring leave policies and employee leave entitlements.
Edit
To modify an existing leave type:
Step 1: Open Type of Leave

Navigate to Timesheets & Leave → Settings → Type of Leave.
Step 2: Select a Leave Type

Locate the leave type you want to update.

Click Edit.
Step 3: Update Information

Modify the required information.
-
Review the changes.
Step 4: Save Changes

Click Save.
The updated leave type information will be applied throughout the Attendance & Leave Management module.
Delete
To remove a leave type that is no longer required:
Step 1: Open Type of Leave

Navigate to Timesheets & Leave → Settings → Type of Leave.
Step 2: Select a Leave Type

Locate the leave type you want to remove.

Click Delete.
Step 3: Confirm Deletion

Review the confirmation message.

Confirm the deletion.
The selected leave type will be permanently removed from the system.
Field Descriptions

The Character field should be unique and easy to identify within reports and leave summaries.
