Work Routes
Purpose
The Work Routes screen allows administrators to assign route points to employees for route-based attendance tracking.
A work route defines the locations an employee must visit during a specific period. Employees assigned to a route must perform attendance check-in and check-out activities according to the route configuration.
Work routes are commonly used for:
-
Field sales teams
-
Service technicians
-
Delivery personnel
-
Customer visit schedules
-
Mobile workforce operations
The system uses route assignments to validate attendance based on employee location and assigned route points.
If an employee attempts to check in or check out without an assigned route, the system displays the message:
"Route point is unknown"
Purpose of Map Tab
The Map tab provides a visual representation of route points on an interactive map.
Administrators and managers can use the map to:
-
View assigned route locations
-
Verify route coverage
-
Monitor route planning
-
Identify route point locations geographically

Workflow Rules
Route Assignment Rules
-
Route assignments define where employees must perform attendance activities.
-
Employees must have an assigned route to use route-based attendance validation.
-
Routes are configured using predefined route points.
Employee Assignment Rules
-
Employees assigned to a route must follow the configured route schedule.
-
Route assignments are displayed according to the selected month.
-
Route assignments affect attendance validation and attendance records.
Attendance Processing Rules
When route attendance is enabled:
-
The system checks whether the employee has an assigned route.
-
The system validates the employee's location against the assigned route point.
-
Attendance is processed only if validation succeeds.
Unassigned Employee Rules
If an employee does not have an assigned route:
-
Attendance validation cannot be performed using route attendance.
-
The system displays the following message:
"Route point is unknown"
-
Check-in and check-out cannot proceed through route attendance validation.
Check-In / Check-Out Behavior
Employees must:
-
Be assigned to a route.
-
Be located within the allowed radius of the assigned route point.
-
Follow route sequence rules when ordered routing is enabled.
Successful validation allows attendance processing.
Route Sequence Rules
Unordered Routes
When Unordered is enabled:
-
Employees may visit route points in any order.
-
Attendance can be recorded at any assigned route point.
Example:
Route Points:
-
Customer A
-
Customer B
-
Customer C
Employee may visit:
-
Customer B → Customer A → Customer C
-
Customer C → Customer B → Customer A
Any sequence is accepted.
Ordered Routes
When Unordered is disabled:
-
Employees must follow the configured route sequence.
-
Attendance must occur according to the route order.
Example:
Route Points:
-
Customer A
-
Customer B
-
Customer C
Required sequence:
-
Customer A → Customer B → Customer C
Any deviation from the assigned order may prevent attendance validation.
Route Point Validation Rules
For successful attendance:
-
The employee must be within the configured radius of the assigned route point.
-
GPS coordinates are validated against the route point location.
Route Priority Rules
If both:
-
Workplace-Based Attendance
-
Route-Based Attendance

and the employee has:
-
An assigned workplace
-
An assigned route
for the same day,
then:
-
Route attendance validation takes priority over workplace attendance validation.
Attendance Status Logic
Successful route validation contributes to employee attendance records and attendance reporting.
Notification Rules
If route points are linked to customers and customer notifications are enabled:
-
Customers may receive notifications when employees check in or check out at their location.
