Purpose
Manufacturing Order Mapping defines how manufacturing-related transactions are recorded into accounting accounts in SmartBooks.
This mapping ensures costs generated during manufacturing are captured correctly for reporting and valuation.
How to Access

Go to SmartBooks

Click Settings
-
Open Mapping Setup

Select Manufacturing Order Mapping

What Manufacturing Order Mapping Does
Manufacturing Order Mapping connects:

Manufacturing order components
-
Accounting accounts used to record manufacturing costs
When a manufacturing order is processed, SmartBooks uses this mapping to post costs into the correct accounts.
Configuring Manufacturing Order Mapping
To configure or update manufacturing order mapping:

Open Manufacturing Order Mapping
-
Select the Manufacturing Component
-
Select the Account to record the cost
-
Save the mapping
The mapping is applied automatically to future manufacturing orders.
Updating Manufacturing Order Mapping
Update this mapping when:

Manufacturing components change
-
Cost accounts are updated
-
Accounting structure is revised
Changes affect future manufacturing records only.
Important Notes

Manufacturing order mapping applies across SmartBooks
-
Incorrect mapping can affect cost of goods and inventory reports
-
Existing manufacturing records are not recalculated automatically
